Neat car, dumb movie.

The local high school nerd, who gets pushed around even more than the 99 pound weakling on the back of comic books from so long ago, buys a 58 Plymouth that is a total wreck.

He restores the car to mint condition and suddenly he's the coolest dude in town, not because he's got snazzy wheels, but because the car has strange powers. Like, he even snags the most desireable gal in school. Neat huh?

Some local bullies take sledgehammers to the car and miraculously it fixes itself due to some pretty spiffy effects. The car then goes on a rampage bumping off all the guilty culprits. This takes us to the grand finale where the car takes on a bulldozer. Can you guess who's gonna win?

I saw this thing way back when it came out and didn't think much of it. A recent viewing hasn't changed my mind much. Not enough action to keep interest and too much teenie bopper drivel.

Rumor has that 23 Plymouths were restored for the movie and all but two were destroyed.
