Prisoners Of The Lost Universe 1983A sexy TV reporter is about to interview a mad scientist about his latest invention, a machine that can transport people to another alternate dimension. An earthquake occurs just as he's demonstrating the thing and he falls in and disappears. So the dippy reporter and another loser get too close to it and and they're transported too. The world they land in is a sort of middle-ages type of place with swords and very primative guns that can just barely knock someone over let alone kill them. There are also mutants with glowing red eyes, a green guy, a cave man that keeps popping up, walking dead people and an evil Warlord. Most of the movie is used up by our hero/loser and a band of creeps that he assembles fighting the evil Warlord's servants and trying to rescue the sexy reporter, whom he naturally has fallen in love with. They defeat the Warlord and must now try and find a way back home. Check out the hero/loser's shirt. He's wearing a light colored plaid shirt that never gets dirty or even wrinkled even though he gets into about 50 knock 'em down brawls. I guess it must be one of those low care shirts. They certainly didn't spend too much money when they slapped this one together. The make-up and effects are shoddy to say the least. It takes quite a while for it to get going but once it does it is watchable. Just don't expect too much. I picked it up used for five bucks. It's worth it. I just can
never pass up a John Saxon flick. I know it's gonna be a cheapo
production, but very rarely terrible.
