There is something sinister and evil lurking in the air and it all seems to revolve around a certain Mr. Straker (James Mason)... Mr. Straker has taken the spooky old house that Ben's aunt used to live in and is waiting for his mysterious partner Mr. Barlow (Reggie Nalder) to show up in town for the grand opening of their new antiques store...

Soon some of the townspeople are acting a bit zombielike... Ben discovers that the unseen Mr. Barlow is actually a vampire and Mr. Straker is his loyal servant... So Ben and a couple of friends go on a mission to confront and destroy the evil duo... However, the vampires aren't exactly ready to roll over without a fight... So off they go into the bowels of the spooky old house for the grand finale...

Salem's Lot was made for T.V. as a two part movie... It comes in two video lengths, the double version is over 200 minutes in length... The single version is a bit choppy and a few scenes leave you wondering if you've missed somthing... Both are quite good and, except for a couple of lines of dumb dialogue, are well worth the viewing...
