This is the VHS version of the TV pilot, apparently there's a couple of extra episodes on the DVD version.

We pick up where the original film left off. Ra was killed as his spaceship was blown up by our heros. And scientist Daniel Jackson remained behind on the planet with his new found love.

The Stargate, which has sat unused for a year since Kurt Russell last stepped through it, suddenly activates on it's own. Some sinister snake-headed dudes show up and start blasting everybody to bits. They then grab a female soldier and retreat back through the gate. The eyes of the leader glowed causing the survivors to believe that he was Ra.

General Hammond calls up retired Colonel Jack O'neil who has been through the Stargate before. He is introduced to Captain Samantha Carter who's a two fisted, gun totin' son of a gun that don't take no shit from no man. Maybe that should be daughter of a gun. Naw, that don't sound right. Anyway, she's tough, real tough.

O'neil, Carter and some expendable commando types hump it through the gate to the planet Abydos and are met by Daniel Jackson. Jackson explains that it wasn't Ra that attacked the base but rather it was Apophis, another ancient Egyptian god. He also offers up proof that there are many Stargates scattered throughout the galaxy making it possible to visit those worlds. Meanwhile, the snake-headed dudes show up and grab Jackson's wife and take off back into the gate with our heros right behind.

They now end up on the planet Chulak where Apophis is seeking a new Queen. The Queen is actually a parasite that enters a human body and takes over. The parasite chooses Jackson's wife.

The team is captured but manages to escape with the help of Teal'c, one of Apophis' henchmen. They escape back to Earth with Teal'c in tow. Unknown to everybody except us, one of the commandos has been infected by a parasite. But they'll have to deal with that in one of the TV episodes.

Best Line, Carter to O'Neil:
"Just because my reproductive organs are on the inside instead of the outside doesn't mean I can't handle whatever you can handle."
