20 Million Miles To Earth 1957

Directed By: Charles H. Schneer

Starring:
William Hopper - Hansome Hero
Joan Taylor - Sexy Med Student

A rocketship crashes into the sea just off Sicily. Two fishermen and a nauseating little kid pull two survivors out just before the ship sinks to the bottom. The two are taken to the local hospital which seems to have no staff. They are treated by a sexy med student who's just passing through. One dies and the other becomes our handsome hero.

We then learn that the rocket has been to Venus and back. They have brought back some kind of an egg thing that was kept in a glass container. The container floats to shore and the nauseating little kid finds it and sells it to a scientist who just happens to be the sexy med student's grandfather. Of course the egg thing hatches and becomes our rampaging monster. It grows at an alarming rate and is soon the size of a house.

The monster is captured and sent to a zoo in Rome where it is kept asleep by running a charge of electricity through it. Naturaly, there is an accident that cuts off the electricity and the creature escapes. On the way out it gets into the now famous scrap with an elephant. It heads out to the streets and the military is called in for the grand finale.

This is one of the better sci-fi flicks of the 50's. The special effects were created by the one and only Ray Harryhausen. It's definitely worth a viewing.
