DIRECTIONS:

Preheat oven to 350F.

To make Crust; Mix softened butter, 2 cups flour and sugar. Press
into the bottom of 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake 15 - 20 minutes.

To make Filling; Whisk together eggs, 1 1/2 cups sugar, 4 tablespoons flour
and the juice of 1 1/2 - 2 lemons ( do not use bottled juice). Pour over
crust. Bake 20 minutes. Firms as it cools. For a festive tray...make
another pan using limes instead of lemons and adding a drop of green food
coloring to give a very pale green. After both pans have cooled,
cut into uniform 2 inch squares and decorate in a checker board fashion.
