DIRECTIONS:

Fry onion in half of the bacon fat until golden.

Add the ground beef and brown.

Add salt, pepper, chili powder and the undrained can of tomatoes.

Let simmer for about 8 minutes.

Cook pasta.

Grease a round 2.5 to 3 qt. casserole (I use a 3 qt. Dutch oven) with he
remaining bacon fat.

Add a layer of pasta, a layer of meat sauce and a layer of cheese.

Repeat with plenty of cheese on the top.

Bake for 30 minutes at 350F.

I serve with a garden salad. To reheat, mash the remaining pasta into an
even layer.

(I add additional cheese at this point).

If the pasta looks dry, add 1 tablespoon of water to the casserole.

Cover and heat at 350F for about 20 to 30 minutes.
