Well the EON producers had a scare because Roger Moore wanted to quit the 007 role due to its lone shooting time. Well MGM/UA decided that any cost was worth Roger to come back as Bond and was able to secure a contract with Roger. With that behind them the film began to take shape looking like an older Sean Connery type of bond by falling back on a type of detective film. This film use very few of the gadgets that the fans had come to expect, but where it didn’t have gadgets the movie more than made up with great actors and a great story line. The story follows Bond in an effort to recover a Navy piece of equipment called ATAC. The Russian under General Gogol want to buy the ATAC so they can control the British submarines. Needless to say Bond with a new allies help stops Gogol.
