Twelve years after Isla Nublar, eight years after Isla Sorna, World War 3 is in iniciation. Every week, boat loads of soldiers are sent to Iran to help american soldiers win the war. But one day, a boat full of 80 american soldiers, the Red Unit, are on their way to Iran. Suddenly, a disease slips aboard the boat, causing 60 men to die. The survivors need to find land...and FAST...Then they come across Isla Sorna, and with new Thorne Technologies, they are leaded to the source of geothermal power, which is most likely shelter. But, after a soldier accidentally drops the device in the water, they are leaded to an area around the raptor nest...
Jeremy Buchanan was terrified. Terrified. He had started running as soon as it had happened. He couldn't get the thoughts out of his head. Screams. Gun fire. Snarls. Bones snapping. Flesh tearing. And blood. Blood. So much blood...
Finally, he stopped running. He turned around, and looked at his back, only to see his Gore Tex back-pack ripped straight down the middle, but the contents had not fallen out yet. He had not realized that he had been jumped on from behind. He had just gotten up, and had started to run and fire his assault rifle behind him, looking back only to see his team mates being torn to ragged pieces of flesh...
"What a coward," he thought to himself,"I ran away...God, I ran away..." Suddenly, he felt guilty for leaving his friends to die back there. "The least I could have done was to stay back and fight those anim-"
He was interrupted by snarls and screams of animals coming from the jungle. "I am not alone on this island," he thought to himself. He looked around for a tree to climb up. He heard the screams again. This time they were closer. Then he saw a fifteen-foot high tree. He started to climb it, just when ten long-snouted animals jumped out from the dense foliage around him. "Shit." he said to himself, and started climbing. He had an advantage, an advantage that was about to disappear.
He slung his rifle over his shoulder, and started climbing, going on little branch stubs until there were no more, and then he grabbed on to a small vine with both hands. He was up eight feet, so he thought that since these animals were ten feet away from him, he would have a head start. Wrong. One of the animals, the largest one, and the leader, it seemed, jumped at him, and got it's mouth around his foot. "Let go, you fucking dumb-ass!!!" Jeremy yelled. With his free foot, he slipped off his shoe that the animal had, causing it to fall eight feet, but also causing himself to dangle helplessly above the carnivores.
"Great position you got yourself into, Jeremy," he thought. "You are dangling eight feet in the air, holding on to a small vine, with...things...trying to have you for lunch!!!"
When the animals saw there leader fall, they seemed to get mad. Suddenly, Jeremy had six, five, and four foot-tall animals snapping at him, and they were tearing up his legs. "I cannot die like this, not now," he thought to himself,"Not the combat-trained Jeremy!!!" All of a sudden he felt this sudden urge forcing his hands to move upward, one-by-one, and his feet to find their footing, and start climbing. He saw an area in the top of the tree that looked like a place where he could rest.
Seven more feet...six...five...The animals seemed frustrated that their prey was escaping.
Four...Jeremy seemed surprised when one of the animals got hold of his other shoe. "So much weight..." he thought. The animal would not let go, and he was slipping off the vine...
Then that urge came again, and he started kicking the animals snout with all his power. Kicking and kicking and kick- Suddenly the animal let go, falling eleven feet.
Jeremy was amazed to see it get back up, and start jumping again. He kept on staring at it, until he realized that one of the animals almost got him in the hind quarters!!!
Three...two...one...there!!! He made it! Jeremy sat back in an area of the tree where the branches spread away from the trunk and looked down at the animals. He needed to find out what kind of animal this was. As he watched, these animals seemed to look kind of like...dinosaurs. He studied them, and took out a small note-pad that was in a small pocket of his pack, and then took out a pen:
scaly skin
sharp teethcarnivore
big claw on toepack hunter(guess)
three fingersstiff tail(possible balance)
man sizeintelligent(presumably)
Suddenly, one dinosaur jumped, grabbed on to the vine, and started to try to climb!!! Jeremy quickly got rid of a word and left a word on it's own:
intelligent
Jeremy put down the note pad, and took out his boot knife, and started cutting at the vine. The dinosaur was now up to where he was, and it started to grab onto a tree branch with it's claws. SNAP! The vine broke! Jeremy watched the vine fall, but he did not watch the dinosaur, because it didn't fall. It was still hanging on to the branch, and it was getting up toward him.
Jeremy was backed up to the trunk, watching in horror as the dinosaur got up onto the branch. Out of anger, Jeremy kicked the dinosaur in the head, causing it to lose it's balance and fall. Amazingly, it was not hurt and just kept on jumping. They seemed to lose interest, because they slinked back into the forest...
After the dinosaurs left, Jeremy decided to find out what kind of dino that those were. He remembered a book given to him by his older brother on their boat...his brother...Jeremy had left him at he camp to be killed...He shook the dark thoughts out of his head, and looked in the book his brother had given him. It was a new one out, by a guy named Alan Grant, his brother had told him. He searched and searched through the book until he found what he was looking for. It read:
Diet: CarnivoreThere was also a bunch of other text, telling about recent discoveries, behavior, and some other stuff. But Jeremy found what he was searching for:
Chip Linman saw Jeremy run, firing his assault rifle behind him, looking back every so often..."Coward!" he yelled. Then he saw ten of the animals run into the forest right beside Jeremy. He started to run after him, but his team of twenty men were being attacked by animals.
"Buchanan! Get over here!!!
"Yes, sir?"
Linman fired a couple of shots at the animals, then said,"Your brother ran off-"
"What?!?!"
"Yeah, yeah, it's a shame."
Linman did not especially like Jeremy Buchanan, but he liked his older brother, Jack, even though he was a dinosaur freak.
"I was wondering if you could name these things. They look like-"
"Dinosaurs, I know! Isn't it amaz-"
"Cut the dino shit, Jack!!! What spiecies?"
"Velociraptor. Just sit back and relax."
"Why the fuck would we do that?"
"Because...we're all gonna die." And with that, Jack ran off into the forest.
"What are you, a coward?!?!"
"Yes...but I'm a smart one."
Chip watched in horror as Jack was followed by fiv raptors.
He did not have anything else to do except run. Linman turned around, and headed for the river. He looked back, and wished he hadn't. He saw a soldier get his stomach torn open, saw the blood and intestines gush out. Chip turned his head quickly, and kept on running. He got to the middle of the river when he heard splahes behind him. He turned around...it was only four other soldiers. He kept on running. This time he heard larger splashes...and snarls. "AAAAAAAAAH!!!" Someone screamed to the right of him, attacked by a raptor. Suddenly, the water flowing towards him turned red. All of a sudden, something jumped on his back, causing Chip to fall into the water and feel a searing pain in his back. He turned his head back, only seeing the material inside of his army vest falling out...and then he saw the material start to turn red from blood. "Ow." he said. Chip spun around, seeing a six-foot tall velociraptor staring at him. It just kept on staring, and snarling. Suddenly, it lifted it's head up in the air, and let out a loud, coughing noise. Chip turned around, and ran to the river bank, where he was joined by three other soldiers. He spun around, and looked at the raptor coughing, and he finaly realized what it was doing: calling the other raptors, who started running towards the larger one.
"Uh, Chip? Can we go now?" one of the soldiers asked.
"Sure."
They started running as fast as they could. Linman turned around, and saw that the raptors waited until they were all together, then they started chasing them. Pack coordination.
They were a good sixty-feet away from the raptors, but they were gaining fast, going at speeds like sixty or seventy-miles per hour.
The soldiers kept on running, and entered, what seemed like, a valley. Twenty-feet ahead of them, were mamenchiosaurus' and parasaurolophus', or at least that's what Joey, also a dino-freak, told him. The other dinos must have sensed the raptors, because the parasaurs formed a circle around the mamenchiosaurus', and the mamenchiosaurus' swung their long tails around menacingly.
The raptors saw this, and they realized that they may be injured going into the mamenchiosaurus' territory. They simply turned around, and ran off...
A soldier named Dane bandaged up Linman's back. He had told him he was lucky it didn't get his spin.
"Hey, Joey, let me have those new micro-binoculars, you know, the ones with that special zoom-in thingy."
"Okay, Chip."
"Linman."
"Sure, Chip."
Linman grunted in annoyance, and looked to the west through the binoculars, and saw three objects in the forest that looked like they moved. He zoomed-in, and focused in: there he saw two large animals, and one smaller one. They seemed to be occupied, roaring at something, but he thought he recognized them.
"Hey, Larry, what are those?" He handed Larry the binoculars, and told him to look west.
"Holy shit, those are tyrannosaurus rexes!!!" Larry yelled aloud, his voice echoing across the valley.
Suddenly, the rexes turned towards them, looked at each other, and grunted. The smaller one of the adults, the male, looked at them, roared defeaningly, and charged.
Joe Mcinney was a good friend of Jeremy Buchanan's, and he wanted to help him out, just once. And he has his chance right now...
Joe saw an animal jump on Jeremy's back, and right when it did that, he fired at it. "Yes, he got away!" Joe thought, seeing Jeremy run, firing shots behind him and looking back every so often. Suddenly, he and his team mates were surrounded by man-sized killing machines.
Joe Mcinney, Jack Buchanan, Miles Dochovony, and Nick Muldoon were all by the Mercedes Benz that had been built for them. For some reason, Linman, their balding, tough-guy leader, called Jack, so Jack left.
"Does anybody have any fucking idea as to what these things are???" Joe asked.
"Yeah. My dad told me about them, and how vicious they were. They're velociraptors." Nick Muldoon answered.
After seeing Jack flee into the forest, Miles asked"Whe-where is he going?"
Miles was not too much of a soldier, he just recruited because his parents made him.
"Who the fuck knows, Miles!!!" yelled Joe after firing at five of the raptors.
"Let's follow him!" Nick said.
Miles saw the five raptors that followed Jack, and answered,"I-I don't think that's a good-"
"I don't really give a damn at what you think!!! Were following him!!!"
After that, all three of them got in the car, and followed Jack.
"Do you see him?" asked Nick.
"No, I lost him after he ran into the forest. Damn..." Joe said.
They had driven for a while, and came up to spot where you could see out into a valley.
Suddenly, they heard a pounding, causing the Earth to shake. Another...another...
"What's that noise?" Miles asked.
"Something big..." replied Nick.
Then they heard a low rumbling, sounding like thunder.
"Um...Do you think it's just a storm?"
"No...something else..."
The pounding was getting closer now...closer...closer...
Miles decided to get out through the built-in sun roof and take a look.
Suddenly, it burst through the trees, like some god coming out from the heavens...
"Holy shit...a, um, rex..." Joe recognized it from it's small, two-fingered fore-arms...
There were three rexes, two adults, and one juvenile, about half the size of an adult. The juvenile looked curiously at the Mercedes, and wanted to go near it, but the parent nudged it back, being cautious, and curious, also.
Miles was perfectly still, and had not realized he'd peed his pants.
And, echoing from the valley, Joe thought he heard someone yell 'Holy shit!!! A tyrannosaurus rex!!!'
The two adults looked at each other, grunted, as if talking, and one went out into the valley.
Miles started to whimper, and then he started to pout...
"Shut-up, you dumb fuck..." Joe said quietly without moving his lips.
Nick knew they were going to be attacked, and so he put the car into gear, and stepped on the brakes and the gas, making an odd noise.
The two rexes seemed curious, but then screams from, what sounded like humans, came from the valley, and made the rexes look toward the valley.
"NOW!!!" Nick told himself, and released the brake pedal, sending the car speeding towards the juvenile.
The adult sensed it's baby was about to be hurt, and slammed it's foot up against the windshield and the hood. It studied Miles, who was still sticking up from the top of the car roof. Suddenly, the car sped backwards, but the rex grabbed the top half of Miles, making him scream.
Nick was trying to make the car go back, but it wouldn't. He looked back at Miles' bottom half of his body and realized Miles' lower half of his body was stuck inside the car. Suddenly, the screaming stopped, and there was a bone-snapping sound, and Joe and Nick heard splattering on top of the roof, then the splattering was on their windshield, and they saw that it was blood. Joe looked at the back seat, and saw the bottom half of Miles' body, with the torso sticking out, lying on the blood soaked seats. He turned his head, and hurled out the window. Joe saw, through the corner of his eye, the juvenile rushing towards him, jaws open. He could not close his mouth, for he was still vomiting, and did not want to vomit all over himself. The juvenile closed it's jaws around the rear-view mirror, but the front teeth of it's mouth got Joe's cheek, and tore away some flesh. Joe stopped vomiting, wiped his mouth, put his head back in the car, shut the window, and cupped his hand over his cheek, trying to hold back the gushes of blood. The juvenile was about to attack again when the adult rex roared, probably telling it to come back. The juvenile ran back, and roared in annoyance, but then grunted happily, and Nick saw through the cracked and bloody windshield, that the other adult had returned, and dropped the carcass of a dead human out of it's bloody jaws for the juvenile, then rubbed it's head up against the female, for the male probably did most of the hunting, and that is what it just did.
Nick reversed the car, and started to go back, and he looked to the left, and saw a head with two, little horny nubs on the top of it's head, and suddenly, it disapeared into the forest...
Jeremy suddenly awoke from a his nap. After the raptor attack, he was exhausted. It was not a very long nap, only five or ten minutes long, for he was awakened by growls and screams.
He looked around for a way to climb down from the tree, but since he cut down the vine, he could only jump. Knowing it would hurt when he landed, he closed his eyes and tightened the muscles in his feet, and jumped. It didn't hurt as much with the tightened muscles, but it still hurt.
"Velociraptors?" he thought with amazment. "Dinosaurs? How could that be poss-".
Jeremy turned his head quickly, sensing movement in the bushes to his left. Suddenly, he heard something. "Hello? Captain Linman, is that you?"
There was no answer, but more growls. He move quicker through the foliage, seeing a clearing up ahead. He started to run, hollering for companions, when suddenly a great weight fell upon his backpack, and heard a sound of ripping material. Jeremy also smelt something. He tried roll over to figure out what in the hell that smell was, but the weight on his back was too much.
Jeremy's hand searched the ground for something to use in defence, and his fingers came across a large rock. He quickly threw it over his head towards his back, and heard a loud THUNK, which was followed by a wimper. Suddenly, the weight on his back disappeared, and he could finally stand. He quickly turned only to see an animal about the size of Jeremy himself. Jeremy could still see it, but it was fading fast as if changing color. The only thing that was helping him see the animal was the trickle of blood streaming from the animals forehead. The animal was still wimpering and it's forelimbs were waving in the air continuously. Jeremy quickly unslung his assault rifle and walked out of the bushes, aiming the rifle at the animal, ready to fire at any time. Jeremy noticed that his pack seemed alot lighter now. He turned around, only to see that the contents had fallen out.
He saw his Dinosaur Handbook, and decided to look up what kind of dinosaur this was. He picked up the book, and, still aiming the rifle at the animal, flipped through the pages. He finally found what he was looking for: Carnotaurus. In the book, it said that carnotaurus was three meters high, so that meant that the one that he ran into must be young, since it was only around two meters tall.
Jeremy also noticed that some darts had fallen out of his pack, also. He went up to the darts, and read the label that was on the side of one:
Perfect. He loaded one into a small tranq gun, which was also in the pack, and he shot the carnotaurus. It was still moving around, but then after five minutes, it fell asleep.
Jeremy walked over to the sleeping animal, and tried to lift it. "Oof!" he said to himself. He would have to move it somehow, for the raptors might get it, and he didn't want to see anything else die.
Suddenly a thought popped into his head. It might work. He started to search in his bag, until he found what he was searching for: a blanket.
He wrapped it around the animal, and started to pull. "Damn, this thing's heavy." he said aloud.
Jeremy was almost at the clearing, when he heard human screams, and roars. He thought he heard someone yell the name "Joe", but he doubted it. Suddenly, he heard the sound of a car. Jeremy dropped the blanket, and ran out into the clearing.
There, he saw three carnotauruses, and a baet-up Mercedes. "Hey!!!," Jeremy yelled while waving his arms,"Over here!!!" Suddenly, Jeremy wished he hadn't done that. The three carnotauruses looked over at him, and charged. The men in the Mercedes must have seen this, because they started racing towards him, too.
In no time, the car was racing alongside the carnotauruses. One of the animals, the alpha male, suddenly banged the side of it's head up against the car, adding to the dents in the car, and startling the driver inside. The Mercedes suddenly sped up, and reached Jeremy.
"Joe?" Jeremy asked.
"Yeah, just get the fuck inside the car!!!"
"Gladly."
They thought the carnotauruses were going to chase them, but they must have seen their baby in the blanket, and went in the another direction.
"Good to see you, Joe!"
"You too!"
Jeremy looked around inside the car, saw all the blood on the seat, and asked,"Where's Jack?"
Nick turned the car around, and they started searching for him.
Jack could here them running behind him, he could hear them snarling and hissing. He had been running for a seven minutes, and the velociraptors were gaining on him. Fast.
He had been slashed on the back a few times now, and he saw a clearing up ahead. Just a little further...There!!! He cut to the right, and almost ran into a beat up looking Mercedes. Jack didn't ask any questions, he just ran to the side where the door was torn off, and jumped in.
"Go, go, go!!!"
"Jack?" Jeremy asked.
Jack looked at him. "What?"
Jeremy got a smile on his face, and gave his brother a hug. "Thank god you're here!!!"
"Just speed up, and get us out of here!" Jack commanded. The raptors were still behind them.
They were cruising along, when suddenly the car sputtered, and stopped. Joe looked at Nick, and asked "Out of gas?!?"
Nick nodded.
"Shit."
Knowing they would be safer inside the car, they just stuck their rifles outside the windows , and started firing. Jack just started firing out where the door use to be.
Suddenly, a raptor jumped off the roof of the car, and grabbed Jack by the leg. It would have pulled him out, but he grabbed onto the car.
"JACK!!!" Jeremy yelled.
Jack could feel the raptor's jaws biting at his neck, he could feel the warm blood run down his back...and he saw everything starting to get dark, and said "Run...and tell mom and dad...that I was killed by...the disease..." He let go of the car, and everything went black...
"NOOOOOOOO!!!" Jeremy yelled as he saw his brother get eaten.
Jeremy started going crazy, and jumped out of the car, and started shooting all the raptors, yelling "I'm gonna make you guys extinct, you mother-fuckers!!!"
The raptors started running towards him, but he kept on shooting them. Suddenly, the raptors started running into the forest, but Jeremy kept on shooting at them.
Satisfied, plus the fact that he ran out of ammo, Jeremy lowered his rifle. "Lets go find that radio station."
Joey saw the male rex coming towards him and his friends. He screamed. But then he remembered that in one of his books, it said that rexes can't see you if you don't move. Silently, he told his companions what he learned. They froze.
The rex walked over to Joey, bent over, and sniffed him. Nudged Joey with it's snout.
"Oh my god," Larry thought,"It can see me."
Indeed, it could. A man had passed on a thought that t-rexes see like frogs, seeing only movement. But he was wrong. A rex could not survive if it could not see frozen objects. Take scavenging, for example. A rex was sixty-five percent scavenger. Of course, we know that carcasses do not move. That would cause starvation. Also, some animals freeze when sensing a predator. How could a rex hunt if it could not see it's prey?
Why had Alan Grant been able to survive his encounter with a rex? Some scientists have come up with a thought that tyrannosaurs get confused when rain comes down, that the tyrannosaurs do not know what is happening, and does not see things normally.
Anyway, the male rex gave Joey a glance, grunted, and swung it's head back up. Joey let out a breath of relief. Suddenly, the rex bellowed, and opened it's jaws, which came down on Joey's body.
After seeing this, Linman and Dane ran further into the valley, and didn't stop until they reached a forest.
"Oh my god..." Linman said.
"Last time I ever listen to Larry..." Dane said.
Linman let out a small chuckle, and said, "Not that you'll ever get another chance to."
Dane was about to reply, when he heard a chirping noise coming from a bush. He quickly whipped out his hand gun.
Suddenly, a little lizard, about a foot tall, jumped out of the bushes. It stared at them curiously, twitching it's head.
Dane let out a sigh of relief, and walked towards it. A root was in his way, and he stumbled over it, and fell into the bushes.
Linman smiled. "Dane, are you okay?"
No answer.
"Dane? Are you-"
He was interrupted by screams from Dane, who jumped out of the bushes, covered with little lizards. Linman aimed his rifle, but he did not fire, because he didn't want to shoot Dane. He ran over to him, and started kicking at the lizards, who screeched in alarm.
All of a sudden, twenty more little lizards jumped on Dane, making a total of fifty lizards.
Dane's clothes were blood-soaked, and he was screaming "HELP!!! HELP!!!" He was rolling on the ground over and over, crushing some of the lizards, but more took their places.
Suddenly, Dane stopped rolling, and just lay there. Death.
Chip was horrified, and started to run, not looking where he was going, and he slammed right into a tree, and fell to the ground.
More lizards started to go onto him, for they were compsognathuses, little scavengers. They only attack when something is or looks weak. They have a nasty bite, which injects a venom that puts the prey into shock. That may take a while, because the venom works fast on smaller prey.
Before long, Linman was engulfed in a herd of compies. His screams echoed through the valley...
The only things that were happy in that part of the forest were the compies...
Nick was holding the new Thorne Labs¨ Tracking Device. He hadn't known it, but he had one in his pack. "Up north. I'm reading a good source of geothermal energy up there."
"How long will it take us?" Joe asked.
"'Bout thirty minutes." Nick replied.
"What if we get attacked again?"
"Then we run."
"Oh. Sounds good to me."
Jeremy looked back at the beat-up Mercedes AAV. "By the way, what happened to the car?"
"Those dinosaurs that can change color-" Joe started.
"Carnotaurus."
"What?"
"Carnotaurus. That's what they're called."
"Well, these carno-things, they kept on banging their heads up against the doors, like we had something of theirs. One of them jumped onto a door, and hung on. After a while, the door flew off, and they kept on attacking us, which you saw."
"Scary?"
"Hell, yeah." Nick answered.
They were almost at the energy source, when the jungle around them started moving, like it was alive.
Nick and Joe froze, because they knew exactly what it was. But Jeremy kept on going.
Joe saw the attack, he saw the carnotaurus jump towards Jeremy. "No!!!" Joe knocked Jeremy out of the way, and he could feel the claws dig into his side, he could feel the pain, and he could hear Jeremy yell...
The dinosaur didn't expect it to be attacked, but then again, you don't expect alot of things in life. Nick ducked just in time, because another carnotaurus bit right where his head was. Nick jumped to the ground, and rolled over, firing his AK at the one above him, and the one eating Joe. He killed the one above him, and the warm blood splattered all over his face. The one attacking Joe ran off.
Nick and Jeremy ran over to Joe.
"Saved your life...again...friend..." Joe said after a weak smile.
Joe lifted his hand up. Jeremy grabbed Joe's, and they shook hands. After that, Joe left this world...
They reached the energy source, and called for help. The helicopter arrived shortly after they called.
Inside the chopper, Jeremy looked down on the island, and wondered if dinosaurs really would rule the earth.
Down on the island, a tyrannosaurus rex roared defiantly...
