In 1984, Adam arrived in Pine Valley, determined to put behind him his impoverished past in Pigeon Hollow, W.V.

In order to coerce Erica Kane into marrying him, Adam offered her the lead role of herself in the movie version of her biography, Raising Kane.

Adam eventually wed the journalist who questioned his ethics at every turn - Brooke English.

After Adam's scheme to pass off his and Dixie Cortlandt's baby as someone else's blew up in his face, he took Dixie to be his wife.

In 1990, Natalie Hunter was so angry at her beau, Trevor Dillon, that she married Adam.

Adam stole brother Stuart's fiance, Gloria Marsh, in 1993.

Hoping to make Brooke jealous, Adam married Liza Colby in 1996.

In 1997, Adam and Liza fell in love for real, but she left him after learning Adam was partly responsible for the crash of flight 149.

Adam was haunted by his past in 1998.

In 1998, Adam went to great, and illegal, lengths to get Liza back!

Adam and Liza were remarried in 1999, and he hoped Liza would never learn the truth that he was really Colby's biological father!
