 Brooke English
(Julia Barr)

A bad girl who grew into a strong woman,
this journalist and humanitarian has atoned for her past indiscretions by working to
improve the futures of others. Brooke has been devoting her time to Tempo recently, but
now seems ready to let some fun back into her life.
In 1976, Brooke arrived on the doorstep of her snobbish aunt, Phoebe Tyler, and
proceeded to run roughshod over the young men of Pine Valley.
Brooke learned that Peg English wasn't her mother but the leader of an international
drug cartel in 1981.
Brooke gave birth to her and Tom Cudahy's daughter, Laura, in 1984.
In 1988, Brooke was grief-stricken when Laura was killed by a drunk driver.
Although she's sometimes hated him as much as she's loved him, Brooke wed Adam
Chandler.
Brooke left Adam after she learned that Adam Jr., the child that their servant, Dixie
Cortlandt, planned to let them adopt was, in fact, Adam's biological son.
After giving birth to Tad Martin's son, Jamie, Brooke married her younger lover, who
eventually left her for his previous wife, Dixie.
Brooke adopted homeless teenager Laura Kirrk in 1997.
Brooke learned that Jim Thomason was a child pornographer and shot him dead in 1998!
