The Stone Killer

The Stone Killer is one movie in which Bronson is in the law enforcement's shoes. He played former New York City cop and now L.A. detective Lou Torrey. Of course he is very concerned with doing what he feels is right even if it's totally illegal. There used to be a powerful mafia influence in the city, but their leader was killed by a rival about forty years ago and from then on the other triumphed. While the power shift happened several years ago, the descendants of the original leader are now planning on slaughtering everyone they can from the newly empowered group. I forget exactly what else happens, but Bronson is involved in the most gratuitous car chase I've ever witnessed. It's not so much unnecessary that he do the chase, but while he's chasing, he jumps train tracks when he doesn't need to, hits cars that are out of his way as though he'd get bonus points for them, and ends up running into a shop for no reason. I think he hit the guy he was chasing, but he caused so much damage it was unbelievable. The chief was obviously very pissed off, and Bronson said something like, "It was an accident." In the end, the mafia tries to infiltrate a meeting their rivals are having in a tall building. Naturally, one of them falls out a window, but this is the funniest part because he falls at least ten stories end over end, and lands flat on the concrete. No bouncing, no disfiguring, and no movement. So Bronson ends up the victor because he broke up the whole thing. I apologize for the lack of recollection about this movie, but I'll try to watch it again and be more thorough.
