The 35-year-old, who plays FBI Investigator FOX MULDER in the hit paranormal show, kept his underpants on for a picture spread in the April edition of PLAYGIRL. He turned down a reported $240,000 to do a full frontal nude photo session complete with genitals after the magazine's reader's voted him the sexiest man on television.

X-FILES beauty GILLIAN ANDERSON has a new man in her life - handsome Hollywood producer RANDY STONE. He was on the arm of unlucky-in-love Anderson at a Los Angeles awards ceremony at the weekend (02.22). And she was delighted to be at his side. Fellow guests described the pair as "inseparable". It was a big night for 28-year-old Anderson, voted the second most beautiful woman in the world by a British tabloid. Anderson, who plays agent DANA SCULLY in the sci-fi thriller, was named best actress in a TV drama at the SCREEN ACTORS GUILD AWARDS. Stone has dated a string of beautiful women and was formerly married to BARBRA STREISAND's younger sister, ROSLYN KIND. Anderson's last boyfriend, ADRIAN HUGHES, is awaiting trial in Vancouver, Canada, on charges of rape.

X-FILES stars GILLIAN ANDERSON and DAVID DUCHOVNY have added another prize to their growing list of honours. The award-winning pair have just been voted TV's most romantic couple by Internet surfers, even though there's no sign of them ever getting it together in the romantic sense on the small screen. Runners-up included CHEERS pair TED DANSON and SHELLEY LONG and veteran stars LARRY HAGMAN and BARBARA EDEN from I DREAM OF JEANNIE.

GILLIAN ANDERSON had an out-of-body experience when she saw herself marrying X-FILES actor MITCH PILEGGI. But the redhead beauty needn't worry that she had been abducted by aliens and lost her mind. Because January (97) wedding was between actor Pileggi and Anderson's character SCULLY's stunt-double. Pileggi, who plays FBI boss SKINNER in the top rated sci-fi series, fell for the Scully doppelganger during filming of the X-files last year. And he wed his mysterious bride in a secret ceremony attended by Anderson and her co-star DAVID DUCHOVONY. Anderson quipped, "It is a little incestuous, don't you think. "I suppose it is because Mitch knew he couldn't have me."

The ex-fiance of alleged serial rapist ADRIAN HUGHES has warned X-FILES star GILLIAN ANDERSON, "Ditch the monster before you get hurt." Pretty SHIRLEY COPSON said the six foot six inch (1.98 metre) hunk, who dated the gorgeous actress for six months, lives for just three things - sex, sex, and more sex. Copson, 33, has urged Anderson to get an AIDS test, claiming Hughes cheated on her with "hundreds" of women, battered her in fits of rage, and married someone else while he was engaged to her. Hughes, 22, a former London postman who has appeared in several X-Files episodes, is accused in Vancouver, England, of five rapes and attempted rapes against three girls. And police have had complaints from seven other women. Hughes rang Copson, who at first remained friends with him after they split, when he began dating Anderson, 28, in August (96). He expects Copson to be a character witness at his trial. But she says she has finally "come to my senses". She says, "I wish I'd never met him. He is a sick man who desperately needs help. But just like Gillian Anderson, I was blinded by his sex appeal."
