American TV star TEA LEONI had a few harsh words to say about plans for her real-life boyfriend DAVID DUCHOVNY to bed his X-FILES co-star GILLIAN ANDERSON. Show bosses saw the steamy get-together as a sure-fire ratings winner, and had even begun working on a script for the episode. But according to American tabloid THE GLOBE, when Leoni heard about the idea, she gave Duchovny a piece of her mind. Not surprisingly, it was Duchovny himself who then went to show executives asking them to scrap the idea.

GILLIAN ANDERSON went back to school to star in new film THE MIGHTY, her first big-screen outing since shooting to fame in hit sci-fi series THE X-FILES. For the director of the movie PETER CHELSOM was her former teacher at Cornell University in America. However, it wasn't that easy for Anderson to secure the part of a low-life inebriate. Chelsom says, "I wasn't convinced she was right for the part, but she got hold of the script, set up a video camera in her living room, performed the scene and sent me a tape." Chelsom was finally convinced - and gave Anderson the role. But he admits to being totally unaware of her role as DANA SCULLY in The X-Files. "I hear she's a big star now," he says.

X-FILES star DAVID DUCHOVNY created a "sex temple" in his bedroom so he could act out passion rituals with his lover. Blonde stunner MANDY KOMLOSY reveals that Duchovny, who plays Agent FOX MULDER in the smash-hit paranormal series, "chanted poetry by flickering candlelight, wept to orchestral music.... and made love `like a monster.'" The beautiful Londoner, who shared eight months of frenetic sex marathons with Duchovny adds, "I became David's sex slave - his play thing. "In bed he seemed to shed his normal self and turn into something superhuman - half-man, half-beast." Komlosy, 31, and Duchovny had their torrid sessions at his house in Santa Monica, California. "It was nothing to look at," she added, "I called it the Potting Shed. "It was in a shabby part of town and it smelled. But when he took me into the bedroom he gave me a mystical experience that was like nothing on earth - he was that good. "There was no bed - just a mattress on the floor. David put on some soft music, turned down the lights and lit candles all around the room." After sex, she says, Duchovny played classical symphonies and wept with emotion as the music swirled over them. The pair met at a dinner party in the autumn of 1992 when Duchovny, now 35, was already a star of cult series TWIN PEAKS. He was just preparing to film the first episodes of the X-Files. Komlosy fell in love and left her steady boyfriend PETER COX, lead singer of 1980s pop sensations GO WEST. For eight months she and Duchovny were inseparable. But, says Komlosy, there was a dark side to her lover. .. and the darkest part of all was the inside of his wallet - because he rarely opened it. "David wined and dined me at some of the world's most exclusive restaurants. But I was horrified when he asked me for half the bill," she said. "He even asked me to go dutch on my birthday."

X-FILES stunner GILLIAN ANDERSON had a splashing time entering the weird world of virtual reality. The sci-fi sex symbol tried her hand at virtual water scooting - a high-paced computer arcade game in which the player experiences the thrills and spills of a jet ski rider. But despite falling off countless of times, Anderson didn't get a soaking because it was all simulated. A spokesman for MTV which aired the opening of the state-of-the-art centre GAMEWORKS in Seattle, Washington, said it was hard to drag Anderson away from the game. ROB HOOPER added, "She really got into the whole virtual reality thing. "She was even asking where she can get her own machine." Anderson was joined by INDEPENDENCE DAY hero WILL SMITH and MTV's CARMEN ELECTRA at the launch of GameWorks.

Hunky X-FILES star DAVID DUCHOVNY keeps himself fit enough to do battle with alien creatures - by twisting his body into awkward positions. The American star, alias spooky FBI agent FOX MULDER, reveals a daily yoga workout keeps him in shape for his gruelling 70-hour week on the hit show. He says, "Ashtanga yoga is something I do every day, not just on weekends. It's difficult, physical, very demanding and painful. "I always think of myself being a wet dishrag and being wrung out. You get wrung out - and then you're ready to go again." Duchovny, who is also a keen swimmer, has heard claims that pop star STING practises tantric yoga - said to provide the stamina to make love for up to eight hours. But he says, "I've never heard of anybody making those claims for ashtanga. It could be true but I'm not sure I or anybody else would want to perform that particular act for eight hours. "I'm sure there'd be too much chafing and rubbing for it to be enjoyable."

The Church of England has been refused permission to use THE X FILES' slogan "The Truth is Out There" for an Easter campaign. Copyright problems brought the campaign to a grinding halt when agreements between The Churches' Advertising Network (CAN) and X Files producers TWENTIETH CENTURY FOX could not be reached in time. The slogan, set to have been advertised on posters outside churches, would have been coupled with images associated with the series, which stars DAVID DUCHOVNY and GILLIAN ANDERSON. The REVEREND RICHARD THOMAS, a spokesman for CAN, says, "I am disappointed that we were not able to run an Easter campaign. "We had thought it was a strong but traditional campaign focusing on the cross." The X Files is one of the highest rated shows in Britain.

Sexy THE X FILES star GILLIAN ANDERSON made love for the first time when she was just 13. The wild American co-star of the hit paranormal TV series was also a big teenage drinker who spent her High School graduation night in jail. These shock revelations are contained in a new book about the redhead star by author MARC SHAPIRO, who also claims, "Gillian has more than a nodding acquaintance with drugs."

Director STEVEN SPIELBERG is set to boldly go where QUENTIN TARANTINO couldn't and direct an episode of the X-FILES. Tarantino was almost granted his wish to to direct the sci-fi show, and was even written a special episode, NEVER AGAIN, by producers GLEN MORGAN and JAMES WONG. But his hopes were dashed by the DIRECTOR'S GUILD OF AMERICA, who vetoed the idea because Tarantino is not a union man. Never Again eventually featured another well-known actor and director, with JODIE FOSTER playing the part of an evil `talking- tattoo'. Spielberg, who is a member of the Director's Guild, is now a hot favourite to direct an episode of the cult TV programme. STEPHEN KING, author of macarbre novels PET SEMETARY and MISERY, will also write a script for the show.

An episode of THE X-FILES in which a mad gunman fires on children has been axed in Britain - after it was accidentally scheduled for the anniversary of the Dunblane massacre in Scotland. The BBC said it would be "highly insensitive" to screen the show on March 13 (97), a year after 16 children and a teacher were killed in their school gym by maniac THOMAS HAMILTON. A spokesman says, "We do not want to cause distress." The episode will be screened later this year (97).
