Plot Synopsis:
Turn-of-the-century child labor disputes, by way of Disney. Tough street-kid Jack Kelly teaches new kid David the newsboy ropes, while David teaches Jack about the importance of family and friends (urk). The two of them lead a fairly successful newsboy strike in New York City, in spite of all the singin' and dancin' going on.
Favorite Moments:
- Trying to decide if the high color in Christian Bale's cheeks is from soul-crushing embarassment or excessive dancing in the hot California sun.
- "I spent a month in Brooklyn one night."
- Rather ballsy of Disney to hard-code their previews before the main menu on the special-edition DVD.
