just to collect $50,000? Next question."

Genre: Obnoxious Comedy

Cast:
  • John Leguizamo as Pestario
  • Edoardo Ballerini as Himmel
  • Jeffrey Jones as Gustav
  • Tammy Townsend as Xantha
  • Freddy Rodriguez as Ninja

Plot Synopsis:

Pestario Vargas must come up with $50,000 to pay off his gambling debts to the Scottish mafia. Enter Jeffrey Jones, who's read "The Most Dangerous Game" a few too many times, offering a $50,000 cash scholarship to the hapless Pest.

Favorite Moments:

  • Blame it on my lust for John Leguizamo. Blame it on the perverse delight I take in enjoying movies that no one else likes or blame it on the two glasses of wine I swilled beforehand, but I actually got a kick out of this film. It's so obnoxious, it's almost endearing.
  • The reteaming of David Bar Katz and John Leguizamo from "House of Buggin'"
  • Any scene with Edoardo Ballerini as the gorgeous, gay son Himmel ("In case you haven't noticed, father, I am a sissy.")
  • Funky "Executive Decision" reunion with John Leguizamo and Joe Morton (as Xantha's dad). Some strange age factors are afoot, my friend...
