Xander and Cordelia really got to know each other in the second season. He saved her life in the second episode of the second season "Some Assembly Required". She thanked him, but he was too busy talking to Willow to care. After awhile they spent their time saying mean things to each other until finally something happened that threw them together. In the episode "What's My Line Part II", Xander and Cordelia were trapped in Buffy's basement.( There was an assasin upstairs waiting to kill them.) After having a big argument and telling each other how much they hated each other, this sappy music came on and they kissed. After that, they tried to ignore what had happened, but it just kept on happening. Finally, Cordelia's friends started to ignore her ( yes, those snobby ones!) because she was going out with Xander. (Who is considered a major loser.) Under pressure, she broke up with Xander on Valentine's Day. After a big plan to win Cordelia back with black magic, Xander totally screws it up and ends up making a big mess and getting everybody mad at him. Everything was fixed by Giles but he and Cordelia still hadn't gotten back together until one of cordy's friends bumped into Xander and said something really mean to him. Cordy told her off and now, the two are together once more. But are they really together? Xander seems to be having some fuzzy feelings towards Willow. Maybe it's because he's jealous that she likes Oz now and isn't mooning over him. But in the season finale, Xander told Willow that he loved her while she was in a coma, but did he mean as a friend or as more then a friend?
