Who is Emmanuelle?
Emmanuelle Beart is a French
actress of whom I am rather fond. She initially attracted my
attention in Un
Coeur en Hiver, which was shown on television about 4 years
ago. I sat instantly entrapped by her beauty. She seemed so perfect
in every way that I could not even tear my eyes from her face to read
the subtitles. As a result I had to buy the video to understand the
subtleties in one of the most brilliant films of all times, even
better than Krzysztof Kieslowski's series; Three Colours Blue,
Three Colours White, Three Colours Red. To see her

Every time I watch the film Emmanuelle and the other actors
succeed in dragging me into the love triangle so that I feel the
pain, confusion, lust and love of each of the characters. Any one
that does not enjoy a film like this will probably not like many of
Emmanuelle's films, as depth of character is her strong point. She
can project every emotion of her character straight to your brain and
she does not provide any anesthetics. I would advise anyone who is
too afraid to confront their emotional self in real life to handel
Emmanuelle Films with care. I have only ever seen one critic who
managed to publish a book which did not openly praise
Un Coeur en
Hiver, in fact he criticised the classic french cinema in
which he named Un Coeur en
Hiver as one of two "Classics". Don't be mislead by
such talk, you cannot get better than his description of classic
French cinema. He is clearly devoid of emotion or too scared to
confront it. Anyone who prefers typical big budget Hollywood films to
anything produced in the french tradition should be sentenced to a
life of watching them, hell on earth, even "great" films such as
Sleepless in Seattle have such a basic plot that you cannot fail
to get bored on the second run through. While I enjoyed Sleepless
in Seattle as it had a very convincing emotional plot, it
required so little mental effort and the characters were transparent
that it can never be compared to the French cinema. To see

When I came to University College London to read Law, I was given
access to a few megabytes of web space. After having designed a few
homepages I started discovering other Emmanuelle Sites, using what I
learned from them I started to construct my own Emmanuelle Worship
page, the address for this was
http://www.ucl.ac.uk/~zctln66/empics.htm. I have
since, due to the expanding size, moved the Emmanuelle Pages to their
primary site in
Geocities, there are now however a number of
mirror sites growing
up. Occasionally you will find that some links will take you to a
particular mirror that has more file room.
The click able picture above is the list of major headings of parts
of this site, the list of pages for the part of the site you are in
is on the left.
