I find myself taking one day at a time, I try to keep a good sense of humor about things, and I find if I sing or just hum when I get up in the morning no matter how tired and lousy I feel, it puts me in a better frame of mind.

Because I am the only one who know's what's going on in my head at that moment, so I know I need to make me feel better about myself at that moment, take care and god bless lydia

If I could tell a newly diagnosed person just one thing, It would be that there is life after an M.S. diagnosis. The sooner one accepts the M.S. the sooner he will be able to rediscover a full life.

Diagnosed in June of 97, so 10 months ago. I still work, and do the things that keep a family going. I have two girls age 21 and 16 and the best husband in the world. We'll be married for 25 years this Aug.

I just don't know what to expect... but then no one does... I know most if not all the medical facts.. I'm a nurse in a long term care center and some of my patients have MS... and believe me I don't want to be like them. So, I know the worst... is there a best?

Comments:
I am Primary CPMS, and I believe in a natural approach to treatment - diet revision (no gluten, dairy, eggs, legumes or yeast), nutritional support, meditation for stress reduction and Yoga & QiGong tai chi to help keep my body functioning.

This program keeps me relatively asymptomatic. But I have to be very diligent with my program. MS taps me on the shoulder from time to time to remind me it is still around.

I wish that doctors could be more honest with patients. That they would tell us the whole truth and not tell us what they think we want to hear.

Everytime something happens medically with me I get the same diagnosis, ''It's your M.S., I was wondering when that was going to happen to you''. I have changed doctors many times just to get the same results. I hate the runaround I always get.

Diagnosed 1967. 60%Va disability, 1991 VA disability reduced to 40%, 1996 Va disability 100%. I enjoyed a 20 year remission where I had only minor and trangient symptoms. I think because of Strict adherence to the low fat diet and stress control.

I wrote a booklet ''New Hope, Real Help for those who have Multiple Sclerosis''. That booklet is now being quoted without my permission on the internet to sell products. I do not condone nor recommend any product which uses my words to present itself to the public.

Comments:
I became ill on my 30th birthday. At first I thought I was just tired and needed to rest more, because I had a full time job and have three kids.

I Later began to have trouble with my legs being numb and they would go out from under me when I walked. I went to doctors all over Alabama and they would tell me that I had Chronic Fatigue and there was nothing they could do.

Finally I heard about the Shephard MS Center, in Atlanta Georgia. I was told it was not Chronic Fatigue, but MS. I am not glad to have MS, but now at least I know what I have to work with.

Migraine Headache
Worst Symptom:Balance and Numbness Best Treatment: None available Best Neurologist: Dr. Bhan

Comments:
From infancy I have had Migraine headaches so severe that I passed out from the pain. These have continued to plague me daily for my 49 years of life. I then had periods of blackout and memory loss.

The memory loss especially short term is getting worse. This was followed by balance problems and then numbness which again continues to get worse.

I also have the bladder and bowel problems we all hear about, no warning just go! Other problems are hearing loss which is on a slippery slope and sight problems which have recovered somewhat. It ain't great but it could be a lot worse.

Comments:
As devastating as this illness is, it opened my eyes to how much I was taking my life for granted. Now I cherish each and every day and thank God for each day I can swing my legs out of bed and walk across the room unassisted.

I walk constantly for fear of the day that I will need to use a cane or wheelchair, but even then I won't let this get me down.
