I chose the handle EAGLE WOMAN because it is apart of my heritage as a Susquehannock (Iroquois speaking) Indian and quite suitable for my lifestyle. The eagle is my brother - magical, mystical, strong, bold, rare, unique, seeks one mate for life. He allows me to soar through different chapters of my life with ease. The woman is representative of my African-American heritage. She allows me to walk with pride being direct and straightforward.
Being a career woman in the area of politics writing legislation and a database administrator (full-time) and an entrepreneur (part-time), is not easy and can be quite complicated at times. For many years, I've been single. However, I've recently found and married the man of my dreams. Who would ever think I would marry a psychologist. *smile* I am a very happily 40 year old married woman with two beautiful girls ages 10 and 5, and a hand full. In addition, my personal interests include: writing poetry, listening to music, reading, participating in kung fu, riding my motorcycle, learning more about computers, and designing at-home heritage/cultural curriculums for my children (an exploration of education they do not receive in the educational systems). Oh, I am also a night owl. It is my plan to re-enter college in January of 2001 to complete my doctorate in education with a minor in educational psychology.
One of my goals is to educate my children on the significance African-Americans and Susquehannock (Iroquois) Indians have contributed to society. I teach my children the right answers(the answers expected in school) and the true answers (actual facts of their history, culture, and existance). It is my hope that you will find something here that empowers you to reach out to your child or one child for the betterment of ourselves and others. Reaching out means to share, care, and communicate with our children.
The purpose of this homepage is to help parents educate and inform children on a variety of issues. Most of the information provided on this homepage is bi-cultural and promotes a safe, healthy, and secure environment for children to maximize their full potential. Our children deserve truths about their heritage and development. What message do you want to send? What example do you set forth? Through God anything is possible! God has calmed the waters of every storm that rose against me. It was He that allows me to soar above and not "waddle" in, and it is He that has prepared me to meet the demands, especially those of my children. No matter what comes my way, I can throw on different thinking caps at any given time and maintain my sanity. If I can do it, so can you!
It is my belief that I and many others fit the celebrity Hall of Wonders and give a new definition to the words "WOMAN" and "PARENT" .
