Hi. My name is Annie. I am from Pennsylvania.

I am Swedish/Scots-Irish with ancestry that goes back to the early Dutch immigrants of New York (Browers). It appears that the names on my father's side of the family (Throckmorton, Hamilton, and Morris, etc.) are listed as ancestors from Pocahontas. I have a search in progress now to verify my heritage.

I have also learned that one of the New York Browers left New York in the 1800's (I believe) to go to Barrow, Alaska. He married an Eskimo girl, opened a trading post, and when he died 50 years later he was known as the "King of the Yukon!"

I just recently retraced the steps of this ancestor by visiting Alaska and, ironically, visiting a Swedish relative, Gayle, who is also in our lodge! As they say, "this is a small world!

On the Swede side I am a Johnson (from Varmland. Sweden) and an Ellstrom (from Stockholm, Sweden). Oh, before I forget. Please drop over and meet my adopted brother Jimmy before you leave.

I have been adopted into a Dakota family. My sister Charlotte Cramton is the daughter of Florence Blue Dog Christenson. Grandma Christenson married a Norwegian man. I do invite you to learn about the Sisseton-Wahpeton Sioux Tribe.

I try to stay aware of what is happening regarding nuclear issues all over the world. I write letters and send email and feel that the storage of nuclear waste is the most important problem we face in this age. Two sites I have found interesting related to this subject are Mobile Chernobyl Alert and the state of Nevada Nuclear Waste Program. You might find these pages interesting as well.

Thank you for spending time with me. I would also ask that you visit Annie's Poetry before leaving. Although it is new, I will be adding to it often, so come back soon please.

My lesson in this life is balance.

Walk in balance,
Annie
