Writing Workshops for Women

Inizjamed is currently holding a series of four workshops in creative writing for women writers. The first workshop was held on the 17 December, 2001. All those attending commented that the evening was an unusual and intimate experience in writing.

The workshops, which are being held in Maltese, explore different and interesting themes, and involve every participant in active writing. Writer and University lecturer, Maria Grech Ganado, who has just published her second book of poetry in Maltese, is attending the workshops and assisting the participants with her experience both as a writer and as a teacher of literature.

Sessions are being held at Caffe Boccacio, in Vittoriosa (Birgu). The following are the dates for the remaining three sessions, held on Mondays between 6.30pm and 8.30pm.

·     21 January

·     11 February

·     4 March

Due to the nature of the course, only a limited number of people can attend. All women who are over eighteen years of age can apply, including those who are interested in writing but who have never tried their hand at it before. The fee for the three workshops is Lm7.50.

Those who would like to attend the remaining three sessions can send a message to Karen Vella, the workshop coordinator, at karin@maltanet.net, or else phone 7970 4058.
