A young woman is found strangled in Ravens Wood. Barnaby discovers that she is Portuguese actress Carla Constanza, the flagship star for Monarch Tobacco's advertising campaign. Investigations lead Barnaby and Troy to the 'Fox and Goose' hotel where Carla stayed shortly before her death and to the home of John Merrill, one of the key personnel in the company.
