"Hebrew Word Pictures"

Lets decode the word together. And when you get real good at it and you feel like studying some Hebrew words on your own, look at the charts, look up a Hebrew word and go for it. And see what God has in for you.

Sheen #21, the Sheen represents a tooth, it means to destroy.

Each letter has different meanings or combination of meanings. One must look at all the facts presented and work with it. Its similiar to doing a puzzle, there's more than one word that fits into the block. Right? But you need to find the word that fits. That's what this is like, its a crossword puzzle in Hebrew. So when we decode the words, we have to take all the meanings and ask God to help us. What is it saying with the meanings that are there? What's the hidden message? O.K.?

And so Sheen has different meanings, and one of them is to destroy.

The next letter is Lamed. And the Lamed has different meanings. It can mean to control, authority and the tongue.

How does the tongue fit into a picture of control? Why one can whip someone to death with that. Right? You talk about control! And the tongue never gets tired. Strongest muscle in the body. Never -- gets -- tired. You never walk around and say, "I can't talk cause my tonue is tired"! The tongue "controls" people, its manipulative, it can be deadly. That's why the scripture says the power of life and death is in the tongue.

When we decoded la-shon , it meant tongue in Hebrew. We found out in the code it says, the tongue has the ability to establish life or destroy life. Life is in the code of the noon, which means life in Hebrew. Is this a coincidence? Is God trying to tell us something important or not?

The word pictures don't take the place of scripture but it certainly lines up with scripture.

So far, we have figured out, that with these two Hebrew letters; there is destroy, authority and control.

The third letter to the word Shalom is Vav #6. Vav means to secure or nail. It means to secure something or establish something or bring something together or join something. So going through all this, I found that the word established fits very nicely with the thought of control.

The last letter is Mem. Mem can mean mighty and big and large and massive.

What we find when we decode Shalom, is that it means to destroy the very thing or the authority, or subject that is in control, that is establishing the chaos in your life. So what are we talking about here? Destroy what?

In the word picture, God is telling his people to get peace, you need to get that root of chaos out. You get out what is nailing that chaos in your life. You need to get out that authority that is establishing or nailing that chaos in your life. GET IT OUT! That is how we get peace, otherwise you're applying band-aids, your anestetizing and numbing.

Alcohol, drugs, sex they are numbing agents. Doesn't get rid of your root problems do they. No. But the Lord says get it OUT. Get the root out. Destroy that very thing that is causing the problem in your life. Then you've the peace, the Shalom.

Doesn't it make sense? It's right there, its right in the Word. The wisdom of God. So we always need to go back to God, and God says play by the rules. And be a winner.

The picture on this web page shows Joseph addressing his brothers. What happened when Joseph did this?

Genesis chapter 45 Joseph cried (verse 1),

and wept aloud (verse 2).

Verse 3, Joseph's brothers could not answer him, for they were troubled at his presence.

Remember what happened to Joseph? His brothers wanted to kill him but sold him into slavery instead.

Genesis 37 verse 3 says that Israel loved Joseph more than all his children. Israel favored Joseph and made Joseph a coat of many colors.

Verse 4, When his brothers saw that their father loved Joseph more than all his brethren, they hated him, and could not speak peaceably unto him.

This was the root of the chaos in the household of Israel.

Genesis Chapter 45

Joseph has forgiven his brothers, wants them to come close to him, and announces that God sent him ahead to preserve life.

Joseph continues to share with his family (not the hard times he has been through but) what the promise is for them now, as well as the future. Joseph has done his part to address the chaos and has destroyed the root of the problem with his brothers, and they now have Shalom.

In Genesis chapter 50 verses 15-17 the Shalom is threatened when Jacob dies. But the Shalom is again restored in verses 19-21 when Joseph reassures his brothers that all is well and they are not to be afraid.
