The key word is son.

Reysh

As we continue to build on the Hebrew word son and add the letter yood, the word picture becomes ba-ree or bar-ay, "My Son".

The yood represents a "closed hand" at the end of the word, the Hebrew equivalent of 'my' or 'mine' is formed. Envision the hand closing upon something to keep or take it. The same ending (although a different sound) also means 'of', as in a man 'of' Israel.

Yood

We also need to add another letter to the Hebrew word pronounced breet which means covenant. The letter that is added is the Tav which literally means a sign and is symbolized by the cross.

The word picture can be read two ways; the covenant happens when you become a son of the sign or the cross.

You can also read this word picture as saying the covenant is the cross of my son.

In the ancient Hebrew word covenant, we find my son at the cross.

Jeremiah Chapter 31:31

"Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah---" (NKJV)

Isaiah 42:1-9

"Behold! My Servant whom I uphold, My Elect One in whom My soul delights! I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles.

He will not cry out, nor raise His voice, nor cause His voice to be heard in the street.

A bruised reed He will not break, and smoking flax He will not quench; He will bring forth justice for truth.

He will not fall nor be discouraged, till He has established justice in the earth; and the coastlands shall wait for His law."

Thus says God the Lord, Who created the heavens and stretched them out, Who spread forth the earth and that which comes from it, Who gives breath to the people on it, and spirit to those who walk on it:

"I, the Lord, have called You in righteousness, and will hold Your hand; I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people, as a light to the Gentiles,

To open blind eyes, to bring out prisoners from the prison, those who sit in darkness from the prison house.

I am the Lord, that is My name; and My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to graven images.

Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things I declare; before they spring forth I tell you of them." (NKJV)
