Location: Pat's house
Note: The meeting originally scheduled for April 6
was cancelled at the last
minute due to severe ice storms and power outages.
Pat's house lost power.
Omega showed up then despite the cancellation, but
was unable to attend
today's meeting.
Puck, Rhiannon, Pat, Shakti, Caridwyn and Mari
The meeting was called to order at 12:13 P.M. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as written.
Puck is currently taking a class in comparative religions. As a part of this class he is giving presentations on Wicca, Santeria and Voudoun.
Omega lost her receipt for the hotel room used during ConVocation, and so has not yet been reimbursed for half of the cost. It was suggested that she contact the hotel for a duplicate receipt.
Circle of Wondrous Stories has gone to National. The Crafters are no longer together as a coven. Omega and Fig are applying to the MAGIC Local Council for membership as solitaries. Taura's credentials have expired.
A checking account still needs to be opened. Omega hasn't been paid.
Puck, Rhiannon and Isis volunteered to read cards or runes to help Affirmations raise money at their annual dinner. A total of $850 was raised by the three of them. Although all of the funds will go to Affirmations, we are proud of their fine work. This helps to create friendly relations with them so they will continue to help us with our fundraising efforts.
It was proposed to have a possible fundraiser picnic
in the first part of
July, to include a Lady Liberty ritual. Possible
dates were discussed, and it
was settled that it would be on Saturday, June 28th.
It was then proposed to
have the location be at the park located on 13 Mile
East of Crooks in Royal Oak.
Shakti agreed to find out the name of the park and to make reservations for a covered picnic area for that date.
Puck agreed to make a flyer for the event, to be the contact person whose name appears on the flyer, and to distribute it widely. It should be distributed to the Federation of Circles and Solitaries, the Pagan Roundtable, posted at Crazy Wisdom. Puck will also contact John Morris so that the event will be listed in The Seeker. Vendors should be contacted and readers recruited. The Lady Liberty Ritual should start at 3:00 P.M.
Mari proposed that we appoint a fundraising committee to work further on the details of this event. After discussion, it was decided that all present would be on the committee. This meeting will take place Sunday, June 1 at 1:00 P.M. at Puck's house.
It was proposed that the next Local Council meeting be changed to July 13, noon, at Puck's house.
Saturday, September 20 is Pagan Pride Day in Wyandotte. Perhaps MAGIC could have a raffle at this event.
May 10, Project 2022 - an event for the futuristic Pagan, to be held at Woodhaven Best Western.
May 11 - Beltaine by the Federation of Circles and Solitaries, Elizabeth Park, Trenton at noon.
April 27 - CropWalk
The meeting was adjourned at 1:22 P.M.
Note added by Omega: My reciept for the room at ConVocation became misplaced during packing and moving. I am now relocated to Monroe, MI. I regretted being unable to attend this meeting, however financial contraints interfered.
