The Melton Mowbray Dog Training Club was first established in 1973, and has been helping dog owners in the Melton Mowbray area to train their dogs ever since. We have a wide range of classes to suit all types, ages and sizes of dog. All our instructors are volunteers who regularly attend seminars and courses to keep them up to date with the latest developments in dog training. We use two village halls for our obedience classes. We have a field for agility training.
Every year the club raises money for a nominated charity. This years charity is Redgate Farm Animal Sanctuary, near Leicester. We have raised £1000 for this charity. To do this we have held a dog show, a sponsored walk and various raffles throughout the year. We also give demonstrations at local fetes and shows to raise money for charity.
The club organises social events throughout the
year, some with and some without dogs. During the last year we have
had a games night in a pub, social dog walks, trips to seminars, a training
day with Joanna Hill, and of course the Christmas Meal.
