INFORMATION IN FULL

Dear .............................,

Your letter has been received regarding your wedding in Rome. Please address all future correspondence to: The Rev. Rector, O.S.A., St. Patrick's Church, Via Piemonte 60, 00187, Rome, Italy. The name of the present Rector, which is needed for the State Document, is:- FR. MICHAEL A. BRENNOCK O.S.A.. You are respectfully asked to read carefully and observe the following so that no problems will arise about your wedding here.

REGULATIONS FOR WEDDINGS IN ROME

1. CHURCH DOCUMENTS
All documents must be issued within six months of the date of the marriage. The following are required:

(a) Baptismal and Confirmation certificate for both parties.
(b) Pre-Nuptual Forms for both.
(c) Letters of Freedom for both.

The above documents, when completed, should be sent by the Bride's Parish Priest to the Bishop to be forwarded to Rome to the Rector of St. Patrick's Church. The documents must come to Rome through the bishop. Please note that all documents should be prepared well in advance and must be in Rome one month before the wedding. All urgent documentation should be sent Express Delivery.

Because of the huge number of applications for wedding dates during 2000, it is necessary for us to change our wedding policy slightly. As from January 1st, 2000, Group Weddings (not more than 3 couples) will take place on the available Mondays and Fridays. Single weddings (one couple) will take place on available Tuesdays and Thursdays. To secure a date for your wedding it will be necessary to send a booking deposit of 100,000 Lire (40 Punts approx.) which will be deducted from your fees when the wedding takes place. The deposit will be refunded only if the cancellation is made known in writing 4 months before the wedding date. We regret having to do this but last minute cancellations and bookings made, with no further contact, have caused loss of dates and disappointment for other couples.

2. STATE DOCUMENTS
Write to the Department of Foreign Affairs (Foreign Office in London, if British subjects) stating you wish to be married in Rome. The Department will send you the necessary Application Form. This must be returned to the Department, not sent to Rome by you. Please note that all weddings in St. Patrick's Church take place in Italy and not in Vatican City.
3. FEES
500,000 Lire, (204 Punts or 182 Stg.) covers the fees for: (a) Civil and Church Certificates; (b) Parchment for Papal Blessing; (c) Quotas to the Vicariate of Rome Diocese; (d) Quotas to the Parish in which St. Patrick1s is situated; (e) Secretarial and other expenses. Until the Euro we appreciate fees being paid in Italian currency Money should not be sent in the mail - all fees can be paid in Rome.
4. PAPAL AUDIENCE (etc.)
It is necessary, when writing to the Rector to state your needs with regard to: (a) Papal Blessing; (b) Witnesses; (c) Photographer; (d) Video; (e) The Papal Audience on Wednesday - special tickets for newly-weds which are free. The photographer we engage expects you take a minimum of 24 photographs at Lire 9,000 (Ir 3.70) each. The Video (half hour) costs Lire 250,000 (Ir. 103.00). The negatives cost Lire 70,000 (Ir 25.00). (Based on exchange rate of Lire 2450 to the Ir 1.00). Finally if a date has been set for your wedding and you decide NOT to marry in Rome, please let us know as soon as possible, someone else may like that date.

Fees and photograpic costs quoted may have changed by your wedding date
