Problems with the pictures ! - sometimes it seems that the pictures do not load.
I have found a solution which does work normally -
RIGHT CLICK ON THE PICTURE AND THEN CLICK ON "SHOW PICTURE"
Good luck !

This week has proved an interesting one. since I have been on holiday I had the opportunity to offer my services to Oxford Bus for the whole week and have covered a turn on the Oxford express with an X90 duty. This has given me the opportunity to see operations in Victoria and along the M40. The highlight was an afternoon duty on X91 to Aldgate and the chance to photograph one of the Oxford coaches in Aldgate Bus Station.

A further highlight was the emergence from the paintshop of 120 in X3 livery - a blushing Trident !!! - full details below.

I have taken a few shots in Oxford a further locations and the congestion caused by the resurfacing of the bus only area by Oxford Station can be seen. Many City services have been unable to reach the station and general mayhem has been caused. One can only wonder that this area was completed less than a year ago and here we are with more congestion and obvious expense to rectify something which both bus companies claim they were against from the start!!

The view above was taken looking towards the Station from New Road.
Delays have been significant all week. One can only imagine what the long suffering
residents of Oxford must think. Worse still what about the visitors !

My second shot this week is taken on The high looking towards Carfax. The sun is to the fore causing an interesting shot taken from the front of one of the Oxford buses. By the way I was not driving !! The camera supposed to catch errant motorists is on top of the sign - top right/middle.

Fleet News and observations week ending 25/8/00

Cambridge Coach Services/Jetlink

A further "visitor" to the 757/767 services this week was on of the early Speedlink Volvos G808BPG, along with G809BPG. This batch of coaches have become real travellers, some going to the very north of Scotland. It is seen leaving Gloucester Green earlier this week en route to Cambridge.

Oxford Bus Company (City of Oxford Motor Services)

As mentioned above 120 emerged from paint on Wednesday and the opportunity was taken to get some PR shots on its intended route, X3 to Abingdon. The green dash grows on you after awhile - promise!

The rear has been used as a billboard to good advantage as can be seen in the picture below.

Olympians continue to work on 4 and 22 roads though 224 was on 400 road last evening, filling in for a sick Trident. Volvo/Paladins also put in appearances on 2 road this week with 648 last evening.

Stagecoach Oxford.

932 has returned from Bedford having been repainted into standard corporate colours ex Blackbird flyer livery. All is well with exception of the roof which has an orange hue !!!

901  a Dennis Lance/Plaxton Verde was unusually on route 7 last evening, instead of the more usual Chipping Norton service.

Oxford Volvo 651 has been repainted and looks very smart indeed.

Unusually Stagecoach Olympian 514 worked the 27 routes last Saturday.
Seen here leaving Gloucester Green en route to Bicester.

Today, Friday 25th august saw the end of the Stagecoach 10B to Sainsbury's at Heydon Hill.
Here Dart 727 is seen on a morning shopping run ! Major rebuilding is taking place at this store.

A sunny Wednesday this week saw Wycombe Leyland Olympian 240
coming down from Downley. The railway bridge is quite new !

Volvo/Plaxton 320 M209SCK, now with Travellers of Barrow in Furness,
working the 1120 839 service to Edinburgh from Oxford - Gloucester Green
