1966 DODGE CHARGER!!. I bought it in April '99 from a guy in Dickinson, North Dakota. He owned it for ten years and put only 5,000 miles on it. The previous owner had it in storage for nine years. The car was special ordered and built on January 6th, 1966 and delivered on January 18th in Bismarck at Missouri Valley Motors. It spent its whole life in Bismarck and Dickinson, changing hands three times, I believe. It has always been garaged and wasn't driven in the winter. It currently has about 72,000 original miles. It is all original with a 383 ci four-barrel rated at 325 horsepower and Torqueflite automatic transmission. The unique thing about the '66 Charger is that it has bucket seats in the back with an armrest(check out picture below). The seats and armrest fold down and a panel behind the back seats lower to expose the trunk area, creating a space large enough to sleep in! The options on the car are retractable lap seatbelts, power steering and rubber bumper guards. The chrome faux vents right behind the doors and the passenger mirror are the only things not original (but what the hell, I like 'em!), they are off a 1966 Dodge Coronet, and were added by the first owner. Other than that, this car is an unrestored original. The sides have been repainted to fix door dings a number of years ago but the top is still the original paint. The car is not perfect and needs mostly a good top to bottom cleaning. There are quite a few scratches, but rest assured, I will keep it waxed so it won't rust! There are no restoration plans in the future, and why should I? Look at the pictures! UPDATE--It survived the 1000 mile trip to Michigan with no problems at all. Cruises real nice at 75. Also drove it to the MOPAR Nationals in 2000, again with no major problems (blew a hole in the muffler). She's starting to smoke and is leaking oil out of every seal and gasket, so I'm thinking about getting the engine rebuilt someday.
