Psycho-existential Development

Thomas Potter, 2002

Stages of Psychoexistential development through coping with our struggle to exist.

In our struggle to exist our greatest concerns are Death, Freedom, Isolation, and Meaninglessness. Fundamentally, it is the play against death that helps us find meaning in our life. Death is an ever-present companion. Death is a very final companion in the great abundance that is life. Our knowledge of death gives birth to death anxiety, from whence all other anxieties are born.

This question may seem a bit absurd and existential awareness often comes by absurd paths What is the real difference between an amoeba and a collection of the same exact collection of chemicals that is not alive at all? What makes us alive, and a corps "unalive?" is there a reason we should exist as we do, and not as a rock, or a pool of protein? These are the sorts of questions modern Magi (called scientists) struggle with every day.
