SWEET & SOUR MEATBALLS
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef 2 eggs (beaten) 1/2 cup bread crumbs 1 Tbl. Worcestershire sauce 1 cup water 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed firm) 1/2 cup lemon juice 1/4 cup ketchup 2 Tbls. corn starch 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 cup diced green peppers
In large bowl, combine beef, eggs, bread crumbs and Worcestershire sauce; mix well. Shape into 1 1/4-inch meatballs. In large skillet, brown meatballs. Remove from pan; drain off fat. In same skillet, combine remaining ingredients except peppers; mix well. Over medium heat, cook and stir until sauce thickens. Add meatballs; simmer uncovered 15 minutes. Add peppers; continue to cook until peppers are tender and meatballs are done. Serve over rice or noodles. |
