"I feel certain that Marty Robbins was truely one of God's gifted.
The whole world is saddened at his passing but the whole universe
will be rejoicing at the arrival of such a beautiful man."
.......Merle Haggard

"Marty Robbins represented the best of the country music superstar.
His talent and devotion to our music won for country music an
acceptance among people of all musical tastes. A fine gentleman with
a beautiful voice, he always, for over 30 years, delivered a dynamic show for
his thousands of fans around the world. The Country Music Association is
proud to list him as a distinguished member of our Hall of Fame."
......Jo Walker-Meador, Country Music Association

"I miss you, Marty. I miss the jokes and the smiles and laughter
that always gave me a lift everytime I was around you. No matter how
tired, or what I might be burdened with, you made it all a lot lighter."
......Johnny Cash

"He brought something uniquely exciting to every performance,
perhaps because he loved the Opry audiences as much as they
loved him."
.....Hal Durham, Grand Ole Opry

"....he had a charm about him that I couldn't help but fall in
love with. And he never turned it off. It didn't matter where he
was. If he was on stage , he just turned it on a little more. He was
always ready to shake hands with anybody or give an autograph.
He was just so warm to everybody. And I admired that about him
- for someone of his stature to be able to do that and love
every minute of it."
.......Ricky Scaggs

Quoted from his album My Woman, My Woman, My Wife....

When Marty Robbins came on stage at the 1969 Country Music
Convention, he received a standing ovation that wouldn't quit.
The vibrations were coming at Marty, but he was sending them
back like the president of the mutual admiration society.

Nashville loves him, but he belongs to the rest of the world.
They've got to share him. His music, because of it's simplicity and
honesty, transcends category. Marty is a subtle source of power
combining jazz, rock country and good music.

My Woman, My Woman, My Wife is a song he wrote, and you can feel it.
His vocal control is almost beyond belief.

When he sings, his incredibly smooth vocal range captures your
mind and body.

Marty is a poet, a singer, a musician, and a "liver of life." He gives
in every song. He sings every word. Nothing is done for effect, yet the
total picture is precise. You know and come to understand
everything Marty sings.

Marty Robbins was influenced in his smooth, easy vocal honesty by
Pete Cassell, a blind performer on "Crossroad Follies" on Atlanta's WSB.
He's projecting it much further since his early days.

His songs are not lyric alone, nor just music, and certainly not
simply a lyric set to music - but something beyond that - an expression
of human emotion that is poetry, sound and total commitment to life.

Listening to this album, or any other of Marty's, is an experience
that will set your whole being into motion. He's together and
sharing it with you. I think you'll undersrand.
.......Don DeVito and Jim Wiles
