July 23, 1997
BURBANK, Calif., July 22 /PRNewswire/ via Individual Inc. -- To
commemorate the 20th anniversary of Fleetwood Mac's landmark
RUMOURS album, the classic Fleetwood Mac line-up-- Lindsey
Buckingham, Mick Fleetwood, Christine McVie, John McVie and Stevie
Nicks-- reunited in mid-June in Los Angeles for a series of intimate
performances on a Warner Bros. Studio soundstage in Burbank.
Filmed over the course of three evenings, THE DANCE home video,
DVD and laser disc capture the music, magic, and excitement of one
of rock's seminal bands, who recently resigned to Reprise Records.
Warner Reprise Video is set to release the home video August 26th
with DVD release set for September 23rd. The release of the laser
disc will be handled by Image Entertainment and is set for release on
September 23rd as well.
The release of THE DANCE on home video, DVD and laser disc
coincides with the release of the DANCE album (August 19th) and an
MTV special (August 12th, 16th & 17th), as well as a VH-1 special on
the making of RUMOURS which is part of their "Classic Albums"
series. The home video/DVD/laser disc versions of THE DANCE
contain several tracks not featured on the album as well as material
not featured in the MTV special.
After an absence of over a decade, THE DANCE marks the return of
Fleetwood Mac in its best-known and most popular incarnation.
RUMOURS, originally released in 1977, established Fleetwood Mac
as an international phenomenon and went on to sell over 25 million
copies worldwide with an unbroken record of thirty-one consecutive
weeks at number one on the Billboard album chart.
Besides THE DANCE album/home video/DVD/laser disc and
television specials, an extensive tour is set to begin in the fall, marking
the first time this quintessential Fleetwood Mac line-up has appeared
on the concert stage since 1982.
Song selections on THE DANCE home video/DVD/laser disc include
"Dreams," "Temporary One," "Bleed To Love Her," "Big Love,"
"Landslide," "Say That You Love Me," "Silver Springs," "Rhiannon," "Go
Your Own Way," "Tusk," "Don't Stop," "The Chain," "Everywhere," "So
Afraid," "You Make Loving Fun" and "Sweet Girl." Tracks not on the
album but contained on the home video/DVD/laser disc include "Over
My Head," "Gold Dust Woman," "Gypsy," "Songbird" and "Go Insane."
