Review:

Aaron Allston is my favorite author. Period. :-)

While I personally liked Iron Fist better, this book was still excellent! Humor and drama all mixed together perfectly; not to mention surprising plot twists. Allston even manages to give Chewie a sense of humor! I can hardly describe how much I enjoyed this trilogy. Truly wonderful! I’m just a bit disappointed, because I know that the Wraiths don’t appear in the EU too much after these books. I will really miss these characters.

Only one thing bothered me about this book, and that was that characters frequently either “snorted”, “suppresed a shudder”, or (the most frequent of all) “turned their ship so hard that they fell back into their pilot’s couch because their inertial compensators couldn’t keep up”. I really wished someone would invent a better inertial compensator so that the reader wouldn’t have to be alerted to their failure every few pages. Overall, though, it wasn’t too big of a deal. I still thoroughly enjoyed the book.

These three books are probably about as much fun as Star Wars literature will ever get. The Wraith books are top-notch. If you haven’t read them, I suggest you run to your local bookstore and snatch these jewels up quick!
