The PaisleyPoll - Latest (Anonymous) Results

Last month's question (September 23 - November 5) was again borne of my own idle curiosity. We had heard a vicious rumour from several people about someone who had screwed us around, and it made me wonder if anyone had used a rumour as revenge. The query was:

Have you ever started a rumour about someone,
as a way to get back at them
for something they did to you?

The results follow:
23% of pollsters said
Yes, I did - and they deserved more than that! I'm glad I did it

33% of pollsters said
Yes - but I've always felt bad about it

37% of pollsters said
No - but I've thought about doing it

7% of pollsters said
No, are you crazy? Ever hear of karma?

0% of pollsters said
Yes, I did, but I found out later it wasn't that person who I needed revenge on!

I guess that last one, which would definately be a bad thing to happen to both parties, is the one that that probably stands most prominently before someone who is considering spreading a rumour for revenge. Although the majority of pollsters (70%) actuually did spread the rumour anyway! *grin* I'd like to thank to everyone who took advantage of this anonymous online confessional and participated! Now... go and take this month's soul-searching poll, or become further enlightened through the PaisleyPoll archives:
