nights eyes ..."The cat is a philosophical, methodical, quiet animal, tenacious of his own habits, fond of order and cleanliness, and does not lightly confer his friendship. If you are worthy of his affection, a cat will be your friend but never your slave. He makes himself the companion of your hours of solitude, melancholy and toil. He will remain for whole evenings on your knee, uttering a contented purr, happy to be with you. Put him down and he will jump up again with a sort of cooing sound like a gentle reproach; and sometimes he will sit upon the carpet in front of you looking at you with his eyes so melting, so caressing and so human,
that they almost frighten you"...
~Theophile Gautier

Night...

She's kind of a legend in my old neighborhood. Only a few people have seen the mystical cat during daylight...and even then it was meerly a glimpse of a shadow streaking under a car or into the tiny cracks and crevices between buildings. I imagine her, with a sleek black coat, lacquered green eyes, and a tail swooshing through the night as she prowls on silent paws. She must not belong to anyone, because she doesn't have the jingle of ordinary 'dog tags' to warn human-beasts that she has her eye on your shoelace or tassles...

...but she wouldn't ever reveal herself for the shameless pleasure of attacking...

If you haven't noticed, I'm a cat lover...I have two adopted kittens Nalwah, a siamese...and Panta (baby talk for panther..*gwin*), a baby sphynx looking kitty with an amusing attitude, and the claws to match.

I am working on a few furry stories, but in the meanwhile...I have a small collection of cat poems, stories, and jokes to share. Enjoy!
