NOW I SEE
It's funny but somehow I can't seem to recall
The way sunbeams can poke through a cloud
or the bright fiery colors of fall
or thinking of nature as being proud
Yet today I see and think these things
never fail to notice the setting sun
or miss the song of any bird that sings
to say thanks when each day is done
Was it that I was too busy in my youth
to see the beauty that surrounded me
driven by my frantic search for the truth
and the fear of failing that always hounded me
But whatever the cause, whatever the reason
the beauty of those years has slipped away
I pray I never again miss the change of season
or be so foolish as to forget to prayrdf
