Ma-Anne Dionisio

Ma-Anne Dionisio is originally from Taguig, Metro Manila, Philippines, and emmigrated with her family to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada in 1990. She began singing at the age of 13 immediately began winning awards and critical acclaim. Ma-Anne was chosen a finalist in the television talent search program Discovery '88 and has never looked back. Discover '88 led to guest appearances on almost every top television program in the Philippines and gave her the opportunity to record her first single, Ang Puso Ko'y Sa Iyo, with the Vicor Recording Company. She was also featured in the television drama series Discovery Drama Theatre.

Most recently, she was chosen as the lead in Experience Canada: The Spirit of a Nation Tour, a cross-country musical tour in celebration of Canada's 125th anniversary. From May 1993, she spent two years in Toronto playing the role of Kim in the Canadian's production of Miss Saigon for which she received a Dora Mavor Moore Award nomination for best Actress in a Musical. She then joined the Sydney's production of Miss Saigon for which she played the alternate Kim. From there, Ma-Anne played the role of Eponine in the Les Miserable's 1996 international cast which toured Singapore from 21st Feb 1996 to 31st Mar 1996 where she thrilled the audiences with her wonderful voice. The cast played in the Grand Theatre of Hong Kong ‘til 19th June 1996. This was followed by a Korean tour from 28th June to 31th July at the Seoul Arts Center and a South African tour from 13 August to 13th October at the Nico Malan Opera House.

For the first time ever, Ma-Anne participated in a chat with her fans over IRC from an internet cafe in Cape Town, South Africa on US undernet.org on 20 Aug 96 from 1pm to 2pm Cape time (7pm-8pm SG time). In Feb 1997, Ma-Anne joined the London production of Miss Saigon to play Kim for the third run ! Beginning June 1997, Ma-Anne started to play alternate Bertrande in the London production of Martin Guerre till its closure in Feb 1998.
