Sutton Foster

Sutton was born on the 18th March in Statesboro, Georgia. She also lived in Athens and Augusta, Georgia, before moving to Troy, Michigan, when she was thirteen years old. She belonged to a childrens' luncheon theatre called The Peanut Butter Players, did Star Search at age fifteen (later that same year she was a national finalist for The Mickey Mouse Club) and received a role in Will Rogers Follies when she was seventeen. Sutton graduated from Troy High School, and after Will... attended college for a year at Carnegie Mellon (1993 - 1994) After college, Sutton lived at home in Memphis, Tennessee, waiting tables at Macaroni Grill and working at Morgan Woods Theatre (a children's theatre) in Germantown.

She lived in Memphis for eight months, then joined the national tour of Grease as Sandy and then moved on, in the same role, to Broadway. Her career took off from there! Since Grease Sutton has appeared in Annie (Star to Be), in the ensemble of the Scarlet Pimpernel and in What the World Needs Now as Jennifer. She can currently be seen as Eponine in the US 3rd National Tour of Les Misérables. She has also stood in for the role on Broadway.

Sutton has been living in New York for two years now, and loves it. Her goal in life is "to be happy and successful. .... whatever that entails." She is currently enrolled at Hunter College in New York, but not taking any classes at the moment. Someday, she wants to get her degree in education and work with children. "I would love to be my high school drama teacher, Mr. Bodick." Sutton has one sibling, an older brother, Hunter, who is an actor as well.
