Bedroom

Ludwig always put particular importance on his bedrooms, and in all the castles they tended to be extremely sumptuous. Fourteen woodcarvers worked for 4½ years carving the decoration in this room. The bed is the grandest piece of furniture in the castle. The walls are decorated with scenes from Ludwig's favourite Wagner opera, 'Tristan und Isolde'.
