Throne Hall

One of the most magnificent rooms in the castle, the Throne Hall was designed in a Byzantine style that matched the Grail Hall in Wagner's "Parsifal". The decoration features royalty performing holy acts, culminating in a huge mosaic of Christ surrounded by nine canonised Kings from the Middle Ages, overlooking the space for the throne that was never made. Of particular interest is the painting of St. George, as it shows in the background Ludwig's planned but never built forth castle, Falkenstein.
