What to see? - The construction of this theatre was one of the first acts Ludwig performed as King. It was built in 1864 - 1865 to give the common people of Munich a theatre of their own. The exterior is a graceful neo-classical style, with the interior being a sumptuous neo-baroque. The theatre was totally restored recently and looks just as it did when it was completed. It is Munich's second opera house, and operettas and musical shows are performed here.
