NOTE: This is a really old web page that was last updated in 2003, hence the outdated info. But I'm archiving it here for historical purposes anyway. For more current information about Edwin Aparicio, visit his website at www.edwinaparicio.com

"Edwin Aparicio is a lean and fluid dancer. His solo in Romeras;... a display of his able footwork and confident, steady manner."

-Lisa Traiger, Washington Post

A native of El Salvador, Mr Aparicio emigrated to the USA at the age of 10. Ballet and modern dance studies at the Duke Ellington School for the Arts eventually led him to flamenco. He has studied in Madrid with La Tati and Tomás de Madrid, and in the USA with Goyo Montero and Ana Martinez.

Edwin has performed with the Washington Opera in El Gato Montez, with the José Greco Spanish Dance Company, with Reynaldo Rincón's Romería Flamenca, at the Kennedy Center with Arte Flamenco and Silverio Heredia and last year made his debut in Madrid at Casa Patas.

Mr. Aparicio returns to Spain for extended visits at least once a year where he continues to study and bring back fresh choreographies.

In the Washington DC area, Edwin occasionally performs at restaurants such as Jaleo, Las Tapas and Toro Tapas.
