Photos from the DC Feria de Sevilla

May 21, 2000--page two

Pictured is dancer Micaela Moreno with the always cheerful Victor Martín, a local Spanish chef (formerly at El Bodegón and El Rincón Español) who sold paella, tortilla española, jamón serrano, queso manchego and other mouth-watering Spanish dishes at his "Dos Castillas" caseta. Photo by Miguelito.

So early in the day, before the crowds arrived, I took a few moments to say hello to some of my friends and fellow guitarristas: Torcuato, Marcello and Guillermo.

Below is guitarist Torcuato Zamora (wearing straw hat) with Marcello selling mantones, shoes, dolls and other Spanish imports as well as what looks like green bottles of shampoo. Photo by Miguelito.

Pictured above is Guillermo Juan-Christie, owner of the well-known US source for flamenco CD's, videos, books and more: Flamenco Connection.

On the tree trunk to the right, you may notice a poster of Carmen Amaya next to an official Flamenco Connection t-shirt with original art by the late Paco Castillo. In the distance is the main stage where the performances took place. Photo by Miguelito.
