The time elemental has seemed to have stabilized. We are stuck in the
very beginning of Blade history. When the Blades first assembled. This
is not such a bad thing. If nothing else I could live long enough to
learn when and who planted the time elemental in Cold Comfort. And
therefore reverse it when it is still to weak to wreak havoc on the city.
Although, it would be a challenge since I have lost the use of my voice.
But alas....let me recount what has happened......
After Bartholomew disappeared we decided to head back to the ship. On
our way there we found a boy in a alley that appeared to be near death.
We healed him and found out that this waif was Blade. Blades recanted a
tale of a man who had beaten him after he told him of his goddess
Eilesstrie. And then took his only dagger. I apologized for it and was
very confused. To make amends, I gave him my long sword. I don't use it
much anyway, and I preferred my scimitar. We decided to take him to the
Dripping Dagger. Might as well try to help history along, I figured.
When we arrived and sat at a table, we ended up with Ebony, Woody, and
Lute. Eventually Eclipse came in with Solo and they both had Carn bound.
Immediately upon seeing Vorn, Ebony, and I, Eclipse drew his bow and
demanded that we go with him to his family castle to summarily executed.
Now I have not met many gold elves, but this guy really took the cake!
After much haggling and a brawl (which was stopped by Lute playing the
most wonderful music). Eclipse decided we could prove ourselves by going
on a campaign to get rid of some bothersome ogres that had been hassling
Water deep.
As we traveled, our deities appeared before us and each gave us a gift.
I received Tasso's Arcanabula, a very useful spell workbook if I were a
mage. But a great gift nonetheless. And if I used it wisely, it could
benefit the entire group. I let Demitry and Carn memorize some spells
from it. Although I'm not to sure about Carn....After that incident
where he transformed into something that resembled a spider....But
despite my misgivings he would not have been much help if he had no
spells to cast. I took the book back because with the way those two lose
there spell books I don't think I could entrust them to take care of my
Goddess given gift.
We eventually found some ogres and battled. We killed three,
unfortunately, Blade was killed. While doing the funeral rites,
Eilesstrie appeared. I guess Demitry had prayed for her intervention.
She asked me what was it that I needed. I told her that I had only begun
funeral rites but that while she was here, if she would allow me the
power to resurrect Blade I would be willing to give something of myself
(after all, how can there be the Blades if Blade is dead). She asked me
what my most treasured possession was. I had to be completely honest. I
told her my most treasure possession was my voice in which I sung to her,
prayed to her, and communicated with. She granted me the power and now I
don't have a voice. It's strange....most would be upset. I feel a deep
inner peace. That somehow I had done right. I don't think I have been
happier. But this does pose a problem....I can not pray for spells
anymore. Perhaps I could become a fighter/priestess....I would still
serve my goddess, but will still be able to contribute to the party. As
far a communication goes...Vorn and Carn can still understand me in the
drow hand code.....I think I'll close for tonight....Perhaps something
will present itself tomorrow.
