A student at the National Theatre School, Dupuis began work in films in the late 1980s after a successful career in theatre. However, Dupuis's star status in Québec was assured after his steamy "heart-throb" performance in the enormously popular Radio-Canada series, Les Filles de Caleb. Since then he has starred in the film version of Being at Home with Claude and Christian Duguay's sci-fi thriller Screamers. Dupuis played the Dionne quints' father in Million Dollar Babies and has achieved regular employment in the TV action series Nikita.
