This page will be expanded more in the near future. For now, here are the basics of this problem that you will become all-too farmiliar with if visiting the city of St.Petersburg.

1. St.Petersburg Has Four Main Regions:
     A. Main Peninsula
     B. Vyborg Peninsula
     C. Petrograd Island and Northern Side of Vyborg Peninsula
     D. Vasiliestrovsky Island

Since St.Petersburg is a large commercial port [easy access from the Baltic countries, Netherlands, Finland], the many bridges of this bay area are raised during the night. Once they are raised, and you are one the other side of where you are staying, then it is time to get creative about the next four hours or so.

Thankfully, the city is well-prepared for this and not only offers late-night restaurants and clubs in all regions, but several 'breaks' for some bridges in which about half an hour is given for quickie passage..

2. Here is the Bridge Raising Schedule, circa 8.99:

Aleksandr Nevsky Bridge
    2.30AM-4.55AM
Peter the Great Bridge        2.00AM-5.AM
Volodarskiy Bridge             2.10AM-3.45 AM, break, 4.15AM-5.45AM
Dvortzoviy Bridge              1.40AM-3.00AM, break, 3.20AM-4.50AM
Troitzkiy Bridge                 1.50AM-4.50AM
Lieutenant Shmidt Bridge     1.45AM-4.55AM
Liteiniy Bridge                    1.50AM-4.40AM
Birghevoy Bridge               2.10AM-4.50AM
Tuchkov Bridge                 2.10AM-3.05AM, break, 3.35AM-4.40AM
