In
this tutorial, you will learn how to create text like a glowing neon sign.
Below is an example of the neon text effect. You will be using:
- the text tool, - the blur more function, - the solarize function and - the red/green/blue colour adjustment. |

Step
1:
Create a new file with black as your background set to 16 million colours. With white as your foreground colour, enter some text. Unselect the text by clicking "selections - select none". |

Go the the "image" menu and select "blur more" once from the "blur" option. Your text should look like this. |

3:
Now open the "colours" menu and select "solarize". Set the "threshold" to 128 and click OK. |

4:
Now all you have to do is add some colour. Go back to the "colours" menu and select "Red/Green/Blue" from the "adjust" option. You can play around with the settings to achieve the colour you want. For this example, I used: - Red: 100% - Green: 0% - Blue: 100% for a light purple colour. This is the final image. |
