The Game of Life

Game of Life

accept all green
accept all blue
set green
set blue

Here are the instructions for reference:

  • Originally there is no real goal in this game besides growing, surving, and dying. Now with two players you can try to survive longer than the other or even to kill the other while surviving.
  • In the beginning you have to set seeds by clicking on an empty field. Just select whether it should be a green or a blue seed on the radio buttons on the right side. There you will also see how many seeds are left. (By the way, if you pick up an existing spot by clicking on it you get a quarter of a seed back.)
  • When there are exactly three full spots around an empty field, there will be the possibility to grow a new spot after you clicked on next generation. This will be indicated by a red spot . If you click on this it will either turn to green or to blue when you go for the next generation. Of course by clicking on such a field again the decision to grow in that spot is undone. Again a red spot will turn into nothing when you go for the next generation.
  • In case you do not want to restrict the growth and want to grow naturally, you tick the checkbox "accept all." Then every possibility to grow will be taken by default. If both players ticked "accept all," automatically you can also choose over how many generations the spots may develop freely before somebody can intervene again.
  • Of course, dots can also die. When there are less then two dots or more than three dots around one, then it will die.
